Asian Americans Celebrate Lunar New Year with Upbeat MAGA Spirit

Mike Zhao

ORLANDO, Fla., January 31, 2025 / -- This week, Asian American communities around the nation joyfully celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Snake, symbolizing change. Unlike the spring festivals of the last four years, when Asian communities were haunted by rising crime, skyrocketing inflation, and anti-Asian discrimination in colleges, the spirit of Asian Americans this year is very optimistic, encouraged by President Trump’s executive actions since taking office just 9 days ago.

Dissatisfied with the radical left policies of Biden-Harris, the percentage of Asian Americans who voted for President Trump reached a new high of 40% in 2024, which is 6% higher than in 2020. Many Asians formed grassroots organizations and campaigned tirelessly for President Trump.

On January 19, 2025, two leading pro-Trump grassroots organizations, Asians Making America Great Again (AsiansMAGA) and The American Tomorrow Project (ATP), jointly hosted “The Year of MAGA Victory” celebration of the 60th Presidential Inauguration of Donald J. Trump and JD Vance at the District Winery in Washington, DC.

During the celebration, President Trump’s personal friend Wayne Allyn Root delivered the keynote speech. Bart Marcois, Lily Tang Williams, and Chiling Tong also delivered celebratory remarks. Many outstanding Asian conservative leaders, including Pauline Lee, Holly Ham, John Jose, and Eva Guo, showcased how Asian Americans helped Trump in the decisive 2024 campaign. They engaged in canvassing, fundraising, emailing, texting, Asian language advertising, and poll watching.

Notably, Pauline Lee, the President of the Nevada Republican Club, shared her remarkable achievements by fundraising $5.8 million and leading an effective canvassing campaign for President Trump. Following her speech, Nevada Lieutenant Governor Stavros Anthony praised Asian Americans’ significant contributions in helping President Trump win Nevada.

In his summary speech, AsiansMAGA founding president Mike Zhao highlighted their outstanding contributions to the 2024 presidential campaign:

  1. Issued two Asian voter guides: “Why Asian Americans Must Reject Biden-Harris Radical Policies” and “Ten Reasons for Asian Americans to Vote for Trump,” in five Asian languages, in addition to English.

  2. Conducted a data-driven campaign to reach over half a million Asian voters in seven swing states and Virginia, acquiring 954,402 Asian voter cellphone/email records and sending a total of 1.7 million campaign messages.

  3. Ran over 30 billboards in Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire, and campaigned tirelessly through media interviews and Asian website/blog advertising.

  4. Organized or participated in joint rallies with ATP in Virginia, North Carolina, Nevada, and Georgia, as well as two online rallies.

  5. Supported door-knocking efforts led by the Nevada Republican Club and the America PAC.

In his speech, Zhao acknowledged the contributions of all conservative Asian Americans who campaigned and/or voted for President Trump. He said, “Though we have the smallest population, in terms of total votes, Asian Americans are the third largest voting bloc supporting President Trump, next to white and Hispanic Americans. Our records prove that Asian Americans are an indispensable part of the multicultural coalition of the MAGA movement.”

The celebratory mood of Asian communities reached new heights after the inauguration. On X, Facebook, and other social media platforms, tens of thousands of Asian Americans circulated and applauded President Trump’s executive orders and actions, especially those that ban DEI, rescind affirmative action, cut government spending, and strengthen border security. President Trump’s visit to Los Angeles also garnered much praise from Asian Americans. They finally see a competent and caring president who advocates common-sense solutions.

Mr. John Jose, Founder of the American Tomorrow Project is committed to building a multicultural conservative coalition. Through initiatives like our "Winning Margin Summits", ATP directly engages Asian, Black, and Hispanic communities in key battleground states to educate, encourage voter participation, and increase low propensity turnout. ATP strives to establish minority community engagement as a core component of the Republican ecosystem and foster lasting relationships with the communities where President Trump made huge impacts. He commented: “President Trump has tapped into the pulse of everyday Asian Americans when it comes to important everyday issues and are exhausted from the disastrous policies brought by the Biden Administration. I’ve seen firsthand the support and optimism President Trump has earned from the Asian communities. Among Asian Americans, Vietnamese and Chinese Americans are leading the way, while Filipinos, Indian, and Korean Americans are rapidly joining the MAGA movement. The Asian American community is beyond ready to be prosperous again.”

Looking forward, AsiansMAGA Co-Founder and Spokesperson Holly Ham predicted, “Asian Americans are patriots who want a better America than what we experienced the last 4 years. I am confident that President Trump will bring concrete benefits to our communities – now and for more generations to come.”
